Some of what most may think, someone who is interested in building on top of what they already have learned, they need to be in the zone- which is NOT the case. In this instance, we need to really decide if we, as piano enthusiasts, would rather grow as a piano player, or stay on the level we are. If it took you- say- a month to get to that level you gave everything you got to get to, isn't that enough? Why keep going? You keep going to climb higher, and get better.
Because of the simple fact that there are other mountain tops to scale, and other oceans to cross, growing simply means to increase your knowledge of what you are working on. Increasing your scales and chords are a perfect example of starting from the ground floor and building your way up. Smaller songs and/or arrangements will help you to take on bigger and more challenging songs. Technique can turn you into a playing machine, while improvising can transform your whole idea of what making music is all about. Warm ups can turn into daily rituals, while how you approach certain sections can give you clarity. And by clarity, I mean by learning some of the methods here at engulfurpassion about how to practice,. things will become clear.
So, in a nutshell, the motivation that you need to help you get on that bench is already laid out for you. It's up to us to pursue the answer, and to find out, all you need to do is sit at the piano and start playing. As always, happy practicing, and untill next time, take care of yourself and your piano.
